Stress, Anxiety & Depression

When we are stressed, part of our nervous system is activated into a 'fight, flight or freeze' state.  Stress hormones are released that affect heart rate, breathing, digestion, as well as emotional and mental wellbeing, which over time can lead to anxiety or depression.

With Cranial Sacral and Somatic-based techniques, I support the body to 'reset' this activated nervous system response and facilitate adjustment back to a calm, balanced state so the body can gently release any underlying stress, tension and emotional patterns that lie deeply stored within the body.

”The most essential aspect of healing

is learning to fully inhabit

our inner sense of self in all its dimensions

– not only emotionally and psychological but bodily as well,

as they are inseparable from one another.

Some of the best therapy is largely non-verbal”.

Health Conditions

Your nervous system is the overarching control system of the body. When its function is compromised, other aspects of the body are also affected including the immune system, digestive system, endocrine system and metabolic processes.   Left untreated, this can lead to a reduced level of mind-body wellbeing, pain and illness.

The following conditions can benefit from treatment sessions:

  • Management of pain

  • Asthma

  • Tinnitus

  • Cancer - easing of treatment side effects & stress, resourcing

  • Chronic Fatigue

  • General tiredness, exhaustion

  • Post-op recovery

  • Migraines/headaches

  • Stroke

  • ME, MS

  • Post-concussion syndrome, head injuries

  • Fibromyalgia

A series of treatment sessions can help increase the level of health and vitality in your body, so that it can more effectively repair and restore itself during times of ill health.

Injuries & Strains

(Home visits are possible)

Treatment sessions can help to reduce pain, speed up injury recovery time and offer a safe, non-manipulative way to treat physical trauma.  Unlike other manipulative body modalities, there is no risk of making the injury worse during sessions with Cranio Sacral Therapy.

My specialty area is treating chronic, difficult to heal injuries where other modalities have not been able to fully resolve the condition, including:

  • Car accidents, whiplash, head injuries

  • Shoulder conditions, frozen shoulder

  • Neck pain/injuries

  • Back pain/discomfort

  • Jaw tension/pain, TMJ, teeth grinding

  • Sciatica, nerve pain

Cranio Sacral Therapy for the Treatment of Chronic Neck Pain

CONCLUSIONS:

"Cranio Sacral Therapy was both specifically effective and safe in reducing neck pain intensity and may improve functional ability and the quality of life."
